University of Texas at Dallas (Center for Translation Studies )

The Center for Translation Studies at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) was founded in 1980. An integral part of the School of Arts and Humanities, the Center's activities provide an innovative foundation for the study of literature and the humanities. Faculty associated with the Center teach literary translation workshops and seminars on world literature, with an emphasis on the contemporary international scene. Students may pursue both M.A. and Ph.D. work in translation within the context of the interdisciplinary humanities program of the School.

The Center for Translation Studies exists to promote research on translation in a variety of domains: creative writing, education, cross-cultural communication, international literary movements, translation publications, and many others. We are committed to promoting the visibility of the translator and of translation through research and public events. The Center works with and through the American Literary Translators Association, which is housed in the Center for Translation Studies.
