Spanish translation




According to the definition, language is the human capacity for acquiring complex systems of communication. Languages have long been one of the most important human skills, because this has contributed greatly with the development of all cultures.  Some people do not understand the true importance of languages in today’s life, but if we could understand how important it is, we would realize that it is related with our history, for example.

Why are there many different languages in the world?
Many populations appeared in different parts of the world in the past, because some of those lived in very remote areas, each community created a way to express their ideas that is why different cultures, languages, traditions and races emerged. The sign language was the first that was born. After that, new concepts such as: cardinal and ordinal numbers were discovered and people began to classify language into families according to area.
Currently it is calculated that there are about 6.912 languages around the world. The most important languages are classified into:

  • Celtic languages: Irish, Welsh, Scottish.
  • Romance languages: Castilian, Catalan, Galician, Portuguese, French, Italian, Romanian.
  • Slavic languages: Bulgarian, Russian, Polish, Czech.

According with the definition, translation is the process to transmit a written text form one language into another. Currently, translation has grown exponentially; the main reason for this is maybe globalization that tries to unify the world. This is a complex process that requires skilled people, but there are people who think that skills in translation cannot be learned  and specially cannot be taught. This is not entirely true because one can learn in many ways. It’s up to each person.

Translation covers a wide variety of fields, some of the most important fields are: legal, technical, creative and medical translation. It is important to remember that each field of translation requires professionals in these areas for a better job.
